Baia del Silenzio

THE RETREAT

The Baia del Silenzio is located in Caprioli just a few kilometers from Capo Palinuro on the beautiful seaside of the National Park of Cilento, in the south of Italy. The resort faces directly the sea in a charming stretch of the coast and it extends over a terraced area that slopes down to the sea in the shade of oaks and secular olive trees.

Organized in formula club, the resort is an ideal place for a relaxing vacation in nature, combined with lively entertainment that includes sport tournaments, shows, disco music, and piano bar. Family owned and operated. The father is a born entertaniner who during a cruise to Egypt earned his title of Pharaoh, hence the theme of the resort. Once a month an Egyptian party is organized and costumes are provided to all guests.

THE YOGA SPACE

Yoga can be practiced under a large tent facing the sea, with great views of sunsets. There are ceramic tiles on the floor. Students need to bring their own mats and yoga props.

ACTIVITIES

Another Great Italy Shot

The Center “Diving Palinuro Sub” organizes courses for divers of different levels and dives in the splendid and uncontaminated soundings of the coast. You can explore 33 sea caves in one of the most interesting place for Speleology in Italy. The Diving Center offers the possibility to visit local quarries in total security; they provide you with their own equipments and with their 15-years experience guides.

The walls covered by sea-fans and red corals, populated by different species of marine fauna, offer to photographers and naturalists unique and rare views.

The National Park of Cilento, which with its 180.000 hectares, is the second largest National Park in Italy.

There are at least 1800 species of trees (which are endemic or rare), and here you may also find our wild orchids. In the National Park and only here one can find “pisciottani” olives. These olive trees are the original trees which were brought to Italy by the Greeks well over 2000 years ago. The Park is a UNESCO site. It was chosen as a site because of the equilibrium and integration that the locals have managed to maintain between nature and modernity.

The most beautiful part of the coast within the National Park is from the Point of Licosa to the white beaches of Palinuro (the symbol of the park is the “PRIMROSE OF PALINURO” a unique flower) and the Marina of Camerota.

From the resort you can reach the most important testimonies of “MAGNA GRECIA”, including Paestum with its great temples.
