Yoga retreats in Italy

Carlene Sullivan & Elena Bernardi
Septembern 12th - 19th 2010

After a very successful retreat in June, Carlene is returning to Ebbio!

Ebbio

The unfettered beauty over the landscape of rolling green hills filled with grape vineyards and the heavenly Tuscan light will surely shine healing energy over the body and mind while capturing the full essence of a yoga retreat. Carlene Sullivan founder of SymmetreeYoga, an Elena Bernardi, UCSD yoga instructor, hope to capture the essence of the sacred surroundings mixed with healing, yoga, healthy eats and outdoor adventures to create a retreat specifically formulated to restore the body, mind and spirit back to optimal health and vigor. The retreat center known as Ebbio (Ebulus) holds years of history as an 800 year old classic Tuscan farmhouse converted into a stylish yoga retreat. (www.italyyogaretreats.com) Looking out one of the many windows of the different accommodations, you will be captivated by the undulating hills swept with thriving vineyards, olive trees and enchanting evergreen forests. The amazing part of Ebbio is that it is still a working Tuscan Farm with its own Chianti wine production and uses only garden-fresh produce or goods from open aired markets to create exquisite fine food in Ebbio’s Vegetarian Restaurant. Visiting Siena (which is only 12km away from Ebbio) and viewing the beautifully preserved town is a must. Sienna’s corkscrew-coiled streets and the labyrinth centre are jam packed with various shades of “burnt sienna” gothic buildings. Home of St. Catherine and St. Benedict this city holds significant works of art from the 13th to the 15th century.

Carlene Sullivan, R.Y.T. and sole owner of Symmetree Yoga is a certified and licensed Yoga Teacher who has continued her studying in Ayurveda and Thai Yoga Therapy and is currently working towards her doctorate in Natural Health. Her passion for expressive movement began as a young child where she was often found in ballet class or along the balance beam at her local gymnasium. She has been in the healing arts field since 1996 and in addition to teaching yoga and natural health she currently operates an Aromatherapy Business. Here she produces all natural products using High Quality Essential Oils and Plant Essences for the mind-full home and body. Her career has broadened by offering yoga and healing art services throughout the Mount Washington Valley of New Hampshire, Maine, Central America and Europe. Her classes focus on a breath work, movement and relaxation to tone and strengthen the entire body while relaxing the mind. She trusts that through passion and hard work that she will fulfill her dream of promoting health & well being around the Globe.

Elena Bernardi is originally from Italy and has been practicing yoga since 2001. In August 2009 she graduated from the University of California in San DiegoTeacher's Training Program under the guidance of Yoga Master Arturo Galvez, whose style is based on the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar. She brings to her classes her enthusiasm and love for the practice. She thinks that yoga is the key to happiness and human development.
